Penny had an engaging ever-present smile, a kind heart, a sharp and inquisitive mind. She was open-minded, embracing concepts and ideas well ahead of her time. She absolutely LOVED people and was the prototypical extrovert. As one young friend*, now 27 years old, said upon hearing of her death, “Penny was such a great person! The Earth was lucky to have her for 101 years and 10 months!” Penny’s friends remember that at age 80 she celebrated her 100th birthday in case she did not make it. So typical of Penny, a life well-lived.
