Lila Luckie McCall was born November 13, 1932 in Houston, Texas and died March 28, 2021 in Wimberley, Texas. Her parents, Margaret Warn Carter Luckie and Jo Horace Luckie as well as her brother, Charles Carter Luckie Predecease­d her.

She grew up in Houston and attended The Kinkaid School and Lamar High School in Houston, Texas as well as Hockaday Junior College in Dallas.

Growing up, she was active in The Girl Scouts and in 1947 was one of seven scouts from The United States picked to go to The Internatio­nal Scout conference in Sweden. She was also one of the first to have the honor of working with “Dutton’s Dirty Diggers”, a group of scouts working and learning under Dr. Bertha Dutton on archeologi­cal digs.

She was active in both residentia­l and commercial real estate and politics until very recently.

In 1950 she married her best friend, Verner Hudson McCall, Jr. They married and divorced and married again and were together until his death in 1997

Her survivors include Daughter, Lila Carter McCall and her partner Thomas Kamrath. Beloved Granddaugh­ter Katherine Goodrich Stevens and husband Michael Stevens, Great grandson Bodhi Dylan Stevens, nieces Carol Luckie Maluskie and Rachel Luckie and Dearest Friend, David Glenn.

There will be a private internment of her ashes at Glenwood Cemetery in Houston with a Celebratio­n of Life to be held at a later date.
