Gail Raye Case Stephenson of Dallas, Texas passed away on July 24, 2021 in Dallas, Texas. Gail was born to Melvin Sanders and Vadie Lee Thomas in Brenham, Texas. In 1958, she graduated from Brenham High School and moved to Houston, Texas, where she would meet John Stephenson. Gail married John Stephenson in 1963 and they celebrated 58 years of marriage on June 1, 2021. Gail and John had three children, a son, Craig Murry, born in 1965, and twin daughters, Amy Lynn and Cheryl Denice, born in 1969. Craig predecease­d Gail in 1983. She is survived by eight grandchild­ren: Amy and Kyle Dreier’s three sons, Blake, Jacob and Matthew of Franklin, Tennessee; Cheryl and Rick Pierce’s five children: Mary, Stephen (wife, Hannah), Abbey (husband, Luke Schweizer), Jack and Drew of Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Gail came to know Jesus as her Lord and Savior at age 13 in Brenham and it changed her life. She desired to uplift and encourage those whom she met, especially those who were hurting. Praying for others was an expression of her life of faith. She loved to study the Bible and received a Masters Degree in Christian Education from Dallas Theologica­l Seminary in Dallas in 1993. Gail’s outgoing personalit­y allowed her to meet, encourage and pray for others, leaving a lasting legacy of encouragem­ent in their lives. Her laugh and sense of humor, love of music and a beautiful singing voice have been passed on to her children and grandchild­ren. A private, family burial ceremony will be held at Restland Cemetery on Friday, August 6, at 10 am.The memorial celebratio­n of life service will be held Saturday, August 7, at 11 am at Grace Bible Church Dallas, 11306 Inwood Road, Dallas, Texas 75229. In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons may be made to the Craig Stephenson Memorial Scholarshi­p Fund at Dallas Seminary Foundation, 3903 Swiss Avenue, Dallas, Texas (www.dallassemi­naryfounda­tion.org), 214-887-5190.
