Kissing Tree offers resort-style living in San Marcos

-

When Kissing Tree residents first meet, they trade stories about where they’re from — and they come from everywhere. The 55-plus master-planned community in San Marcos offers luxurious homes and action-packed resort-style living. The residents’ favorite features are the strong sense of community and the welcoming environment.

As the residents like to say, no one was born at Kissing Tree, but they all got there as soon as they could.

“It’s not just about a home. It’s about neighbors caring for one another, community, and living active together,” said Martha Love, a Kissing Tree resident. “We love it here.”

Putting the active in active adult

Everything happens at The Mix, the 20-acre amenity campus in the center of the 1,300-acre community. Visitors can start at the Welcome Center and Independence Hall, an open-concept building with a bar, cafe with demo kitchen, and outdoor biergarten with a stage and firepits, all steps away from pickleball, bocce ball, and horseshoe pits.

Sports-minded residents have lots to keep them busy, starting with the semi-private 18-hole golf course, long- and short-game practice facilities, and a nine-hole putting course. There’s also a beautiful two-story fitness center as well as an outdoor resort-style pool and indoor junior Olympic-size lap pool with rolling doors that open to wide Hill Country views.

Location, location, vacation

It’s also convenient to get anywhere from Kissing Tree. Off the IH-35 corridor, Kissing Tree is 49 miles to San Antonio and 31 miles to Austin, giving residents lots of options when they’re booking flights or looking for a change of scenery.

“We don’t have to go to a resort or a destination, although we do like to travel,” Kathy Anderson said. “We can stay right here and just do things together that are fun.” Her husband Larry said, “We know it’s the right spot because when we do travel, we’re always anxious to get back here.”
