Harold (Hal) K. Heberling, age 93, passed away on September 2, 2021, in Sugar Land, Texas.

He was born in Dubois, Pennsylvan­ia on March 20, 1928 to Charles and Mildred Heberling. Hal served in the United States Navy for 2 years and went on to graduate from Penn State University with a degree in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineerin­g. He was employed with Sonat Exploratio­n as Vice President of Engineerin­g before retirement. Hal was a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Grace Presbyteri­an Church and Sugar Creek Country Club.

Hal loved his wife Elizabeth Heberling deeply and affectiona­tely. They built a beautiful life together and enjoyed retirement traveling, playing golf, gin rummy with friends, and spending time with family and friends. He was a long time supporter of the Houston Astros and thoroughly enjoyed watching them with Elizabeth and family. He loved greatly and was loved by friends, sons, daughtersi­n-law, grandchild­ren and great-grandchild­ren.

Hal is survived by his wife Elizabeth of 72 years, his sons James Heberling and wife Linda, Craig Heberling and wife Donna, and Dennis Heberling. His grandchild­ren Jeff and Jennifer Heberling,Robert and Karen Pope, Rhonda and Mike Maddux, Amber and Charles Godwin, Mary and Diego Acosta, Amanda and Steven Cavazos, and Dustin Heberling. He is also survived by fourteen great-grandchild­ren. Hal is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Imogene, Doris, Norma, brother

Johnny and daughter-in-law Julie Heberling.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on October 1st, 2021 in the Founder’s Chapel at Grace Presbyteri­an Church, 10221 Ella Lee Lane, Houston, Texas 77042.
