JAMES REAGAN DAVIS
1944-2022
James Reagan Davis, 78, of Houston, Texas, passed away on March 29, 2022. He was born in Perryton, Texas on January 27, 1944 to parents, Jess Newton, Jr. and Dessie Lorene Anderson. Reagan was adopted by Howard Keith Davis and Eddith
Ney Mantooth. Howard Davis later married Mary Louise Carter and both were recognized by Reagan as his parents.
Reagan graduated high school from the Schreiner Institute (now Schreiner University), Kerrville, Texas, in 1962. Upon graduation, Reagan joined the U.S. Navy where he served on the USS Bennington during the Vietnam War as a Fire Control Technician.
While in the Navy, Reagan met Barbara Lynne Fink while stationed in Long Beach, California and they were married in Long Beach on April 16, 1966.
Upon his honorable discharge from the Navy in 1966, Reagan and Barbara stayed in California where Reagan worked as a Sales Representative for the 3M Company while attending college. Reagan returned to Texas in 1968 where he continued his education at Houston Baptist University, from which he graduated in 1977 with a BS in Chemistry.
After graduation, Reagan began his career in the oil field industry working for Milchem as a Mud Engineer from 1977 to 1982. In 1982, Reagan joined Grain Processing Company (GPC) as a Sales Engineer. After 22 years in the oilfield industry, Reagan retired from GPC in 1999 and began to pursue his second passion in holistic health and medicine.
In 1995, Reagan graduated from The Phoenix School of Massage and began practicing and teaching massage in the greater Houston area. He later attended the American College of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine. Reagan also worked for The College of Healthcare Professions as an instructor until 2019.
Reagan is preceded in death by Jess Newton Jr (Biological Father), Dessie Lorene Anderson (Biological Mother), Howard Keith Davis (Father), Mary Louise Carter (Mother), Jimmie Lee Newton (Brother), Rosemary Lorene Carter (Sister), and Andrew Ryan Davis (Grandson).
Reagan is survived by Barbara Lynne Fink-Klaassen (Ex-wife/Fiancé), Cathy Lynne Davis (Daughter) and Mark Jaeger, Timothy Reagan Davis (Son), Jonathon Edward Davis (Son) and Deana Ann Brelje, Jared Donham Fellers (Grandson), Allen Anderson Fellers (Grandson) and Karissa Anneliese Acosta , James Adron Davis (Grandson), Paige Hailey Davis (Granddaughter), Rachel Marie Davis (Granddaughter), Brieanna Madison Davis (Granddaughter), Moirghan Ashleigh Jaeger (Granddaughter), Mikal Andrew Davis (Grandson), Raymond Roscoe Chance (Brother), Vickey Diann Chance (Sister), Pamela
Joy Chance (Sister), Denise Annette Fouchey (Sister), Sandy Ray Fouchey (Sister), many nieces, nephews and best friend of 64 years A.J. Richardson.
Visitation and funeral will take place at Brookside Memorial Funeral Home, 13401 Easter Fwy., Houston, TX 77039. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, April 7th at 12 noon followed by graveside, military honors, at 1:00 PM.
