NAIDA JO DEVILLENEUVE CRISP
1928-2022
Naida Jo deVilleneuve Crisp, 93, a longtime resident of Pasadena and a lifelong Texan, passed away Monday morning, March 14 in Warrenton, Virginia.
Jo was born July 31, 1928 to George and Naida deVilleneuve of Victoria, Texas.
She married Albert S. Crisp of Refugio on April 26, 1951 and they were married until his death in 1992. A telephone operator in her young adult years, she was a homemaker who later worked for Hancock Fabrics in Pasadena until retirement. She was a lifelong gardener and member of the American Hemerocallis Society and Houston Area Daylily Society. Jo was an Exhibition Judge and Garden Judge attending many National conventions and Regional meetings. An active member of First Presbyterian Church of Pasadena, she was an elder, greeter and member of the ladies day and evening circles. Jo volunteered at the Presbytery office in Houston and was an Honorary Lifetime Member of Presbyterian Women.
Jo is survived by her daughter and her husband, Cynthia Crisp Roberts and Rock E. Roberts, of Portsmouth, Virginia and two granddaughters, Katarina Lin Roberts and Rebekah Marie Roberts. She is survived by a niece, Vicki deVilleneuve Golden and nephews Steven Howard deVilleneve and Dean S. deVilleneuve.
Jo is predeceased by her husband, Albert S. Crisp and her son Jeffry Arlan Crisp. Also deceased are her brothers Howard Guy deVilleneuve and George Craig deVilleneuve and nephew Craig deVilleneuve.
A memorial service is planned for Saturday, April 9 at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Pasadena (FCPC), 4647 Preston Ave., Pasadena. A reception to follow in Fellowship Hall. A private interment will be held at Houston National Cemetery.
