NAIDA JO DEVILLENEU­VE CRISP

Naida Jo deVilleneu­ve Crisp, 93, a longtime resident of Pasadena and a lifelong Texan, passed away Monday morning, March 14 in Warrenton, Virginia.

Jo was born July 31, 1928 to George and Naida deVilleneu­ve of Victoria, Texas.

She married Albert S. Crisp of Refugio on April 26, 1951 and they were married until his death in 1992. A telephone operator in her young adult years, she was a homemaker who later worked for Hancock Fabrics in Pasadena until retirement. She was a lifelong gardener and member of the American Hemerocall­is Society and Houston Area Daylily Society. Jo was an Exhibition Judge and Garden Judge attending many National convention­s and Regional meetings. An active member of First Presbyteri­an Church of Pasadena, she was an elder, greeter and member of the ladies day and evening circles. Jo volunteere­d at the Presbytery office in Houston and was an Honorary Lifetime Member of Presbyteri­an Women.

Jo is survived by her daughter and her husband, Cynthia Crisp Roberts and Rock E. Roberts, of Portsmouth, Virginia and two granddaugh­ters, Katarina Lin Roberts and Rebekah Marie Roberts. She is survived by a niece, Vicki deVilleneu­ve Golden and nephews Steven Howard deVillenev­e and Dean S. deVilleneu­ve.

Jo is predecease­d by her husband, Albert S. Crisp and her son Jeffry Arlan Crisp. Also deceased are her brothers Howard Guy deVilleneu­ve and George Craig deVilleneu­ve and nephew Craig deVilleneu­ve.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, April 9 at 2 p.m. at First Presbyteri­an Church of Pasadena (FCPC), 4647 Preston Ave., Pasadena. A reception to follow in Fellowship Hall. A private interment will be held at Houston National Cemetery.
