Kyle Santolini, a Martha Turner Sotheby’s International Realty Realtor with 13 years of real estate industry experience, shared these insights:

Why did you decide on a career in real estate? What was your inspiration? Real estate is a people business, and I happen to really like people. I was originally inspired to get into real estate because of my passion for architecture and design, but fell in love with the process of helping others navigate their way home.

What’s your previous work and training? I chose to spend my early 20s traveling the world as an entertainer on cruise ships. I then worked as a licensed Realtor in New York City before moving back to Houston in 2012, where I have been active in Houston’s residential market working alongside some of the top agents in Houston.

What are your focus areas? Heights, Montrose, River Oaks, Rice Military, Sawyer Heights, Midtown, Upper Kirby, West University/Southgate, EaDo and Spring Branch.

How is the marketplace now and is it a good time to buy? The reality is, inventory is tight. We have more first-time home buyers now than ever before, and those buyers don’t have a home to trade out of. This is a big factor in the shortage of inventory. That being said, rates are still considerably low and there are deals to be made. Just be prepared to put your best foot forward and act fast — a.k.a., listen to your Realtor.

How would you describe your work ethic and skills for success? I tend to be more laid back in my approach with people. I don’t consider myself a “salesman” in the traditional sense. I am an excellent listener, very empathetic, and put myself in the shoes of my clients. I’ve learned that those skills earn trust, and that is the basis of any great relationship.

What are some key ways you help your clients in the buying/selling process? One of my greatest strengths is my ability to see the potential in any space I come into. I’ve always been very visual and creative, which helps my sellers when they might need a little guidance on getting their home ready for market, and it also helps my less-creative buyers understand the possibilities a quirky home might possess.

Any industry awards? I was recognized under the MTSIR Circle of Excellence for 2020 and 2021.

How does your company support your sales process?

I would not be a success today without the support of the staff at MTSIR. Our managers are experienced in the industry and provide endless knowledge, support and advice. Our marketing department is top tier and always has me looking like a marketing genius in front of clients.

Our IT department keeps me connected at all times so I can be available whenever needed. There is someone for every need imaginable here, and I am so grateful to be supported by such phenomenal people.
