ELLA SHERYL SMART

1954-2022

Ella “Sheryl” Smart, 67, of Buda, Texas passed away on April 2, 2022 in Buda. Sheryl was born in Pasadena, Texas to Gordie and Edith Smart on April 3, 1954.

Sheryl was raised in Houston TX and graduated from North Shore Senior High in 1972. She enjoyed a career in sales and had been retired several years at the time of her passing. Sheryl moved to Austin in 2006 and married her late husband, Mike Daniel in 2008. They lived in Bastrop for many years before moving to their home in Buda. Sheryl and Mike enjoyed traveling and sight-seeing together. Sheryl loved spending time with her daughters, granddaughters and sisters. She cherished her relationships with her family and dear friends. Those who knew Sheryl will always remember her by her beautiful smile which radiated warmth and kindness. She was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, friend, and all who loved her think of her often and miss her dearly.

Sheryl was preceded in death by her husband, Mike; parents, Gordie and Edith; and brother Gordie Alan Smart. She is survived by her daughter, Cassandra Browning, of Canyon Lake and husband Burton; daughter Sarah Alfieri, of Austin and husband Nick; sisters, Amber Johnson, of Conroe, and Melodee Smart, of San Marcos; 3 granddaughters: Caylin Ash and Layla Ash, of Houston and Serena Alfieri, of Austin; as well as 6 nephews, and 5 nieces.

A memorial service to celebrate Sheryl’s life will be held at Harrell Funeral Home in Kyle on April 30, 2022, at 2pm. Reception will follow at her residence at 4:30 p.m. Harrell Funeral Home will be handling the memorial arrangements.
