North Houston offers bang for your buck with shopping, dining, entertainm­ent

When heading up I-45 through north Houston, all around are varied offerings that provide some of the most popular living choices for those seeking the suburbs of Houston. In fact, The Woodlands was named its “Best City to Live in America” by Niche.com in March 2022.

About 30 miles from Houston, The Woodlands, at approx. 28,000 acres, offers a complete master-planned experience integrated into a lush, forested landscape dotted with bustling retail and employment centers. In the heart of The Woodlands community, the 200-acre Lake Woodlands and Town Center offer major attraction­s like the Woodlands Waterway. Residents can enjoy The Woodlands Mall and the pedestrian Market Street.

With approximat­ely 120,000-plus residents and more than 2,000 businesses, it is home to over 150 parks, with neighborho­ods connected by more than 220 miles of hike-and-bike trails and a nature preserve. Top education opportunit­ies abound as well.

Close by in Spring, take in unique experience­s at Old Town Spring, a shopping complex with historic ties that offers distinctiv­e shops, galleries and two history museums. There is also City Place located between I-45, Grand Parkway and Hardy Toll Road, and is home to some of Houston’s finest in technology, energy, shipping, and medicine as well as becoming an emerging foodie scene.
