Taylor Morrison building GHBA Benefit home

-

The GHBA’s 42-year-old charity fundraiser, the Benefit Homes Project, continues its commitment to the community with the upcoming groundbreaking on April 27 of a Benefit home to be built by Taylor Morrison Houston.

Each year, two homes are built for the Benefit Homes Project with donated materials and labor by GHBA members. The homes are sold at market value and proceeds go to HomeAid Houston and Operation Finally Home.

Taylor Morrison is building its Dahlia plan in its Grand Vista community on a lot they also donated to the project. The Dahlia is a 1,532 sq. ft. one-story home with three bedrooms, two baths and a two-car garage. An extended formal foyer flows into an open-concept gathering room and kitchen. There is also a formal dining room. The private owner’s suite is located at the back of the home offering a beautiful retreat with its wall of windows that capture the light. There are two closets that provide plenty of storage for separate wardrobes, a double-door entry to the owner’s bath, a vanity with dual sinks, and separate walk-in shower.

“The Taylor Morrison team is excited to take part in the 2022 GHBA Benefit Homes Project as a builder for a second time,” said Todd Rasmussen, division president of Taylor Morrison. “This year we are building our Dahlia plan and are already connecting with our vendors and suppliers to secure donations of materials and services as we count down to the official groundbreaking celebration. Taylor Morrison is honored to give back to the community by building and selling this home for two local charities.”

Located in the city of Richmond, Grand Vista is ideal for today’s homebuyers seeking all the advantages of contemporary suburban living just approximately 30 miles from downtown. Grand Vista covers 600-plus acres with abundant amenities including two community clubhouses and pools, playgrounds, an on-site elementary school and lakeside walking trails. The community offers one- and two-story floor plans priced from the $400,000s to $600,000s-plus.

Throughout the 42-year history of the GHBA Benefit Homes Project, more than 110 homes have been built with the help of donations. The sale of the homes has raised over $12 million to go toward a number of charities.
