DONNA RUTH (TALBOTT) THRASHER

Donna Ruth Thrasher, 84, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, November 25, 2021 in Houston, TX.

She was born on June 22, 1937 at the family farm house in Yale, Oklahoma. She is the daughter and eighth child of ten children of Merle and Marvel Talbott.

Donna graduated from Yale High School and attended nurses’ training in Ponca City, Oklahoma. She gave up that career to raise her children and support her husband’s career. They lived in several states and three times in London, England, finally settling in Houston, TX.

Donna married her high school sweetheart, Jack Lee Thrasher, on February 18, 1956. They were married almost 67 years.

She is preceded in death by their daughter, Carrie Kate Thrasher, her parents, Merle and Marvel Talbott, brothers: Jerry Talbott, Charles Talbott, John Talbott, and Jack Talbott, and sisters: Carolyn Edwards, Marvel Lou Robinson, and Betty Nelson.

She is survived by her loving husband, Jack Lee Thrasher, son Don and wife Barbara Thrasher, son Jack A. Thrasher and wife Carrie Thrasher. Grandchild­ren: Duncan and Kendall Thrasher, Melissa and husband Ryan Williams, Christy and husband Joshua Crockett, and David and wife Michele Thrasher. Great grandchild­ren: Cass and Corbin Williams, Kensey and Jaxson Crockett, and Zephaniah Thrasher. Siblings: sister, Nancy Ross and brother, David Joe and wife Norma Talbott.

Donna was known for her great faith in Jesus and worked diligently for His kingdom. She loved to read and study the Bible. She served in several Bible studies and Christian organizati­ons. She was a member of Cypress Bible Church and enjoyed being involved in ministry and small groups there. She was also known for her love and care for family and friends. She also was an incredible prayer warrior.

Her Celebratio­n of Life will be held at Cypress Bible Church, 11711 Cypress North Houston Rd., Houston, TX 77429 in the main sanctuary on May 6, 2022 at 2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, for those considerin­g an expression of sympathy, memorial contributi­ons may be made to Cypress Bible Church Missions Fund.
