ANITA D. MILNE

1949-2022

-

Anita Milne, born in 1949 at her parent’s farmhouse in Creighton, South Dakota in the middle of a blizzard, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at the age of 73. Those left to cherish her memory include sisters, Patricia Buck, Marcia Gorton, and Judy Stafford; brother, Zane Rhynard, and wife Norma; daughters, Angela Simone, Candy Fenwick, and husband Jimmy; son, Perry Milne, and wife Leslie; grandchildren Joey Simone and wife Allison, Aryn Simone, Morgan Milne, Lane Milne, Nikki Fenwick, Colby Fenwick, Andy Fenwick, and great granddaughter Anniston Simone, as well as a host of other family members and friends.

Anita began her elementary education at the one room country school in Creighton, South Dakota. She then finished her schooling in Quin, South Dakota and New Underwood, South Dakota. As a girl, Anita had many adventures on the family farm with her brothers and sisters. She had several jobs, as she began a family of her own, but soon had the opportunity to be a stay-at-home mom for several years before beginning her real estate career in 1981. Helping people find a home of their own was one of Anita’s greatest joys. She made many friends and helped many people along the way. Throughout her years in real estate, Anita had the opportunity to work with Century 21, Bigby & Associates, Remax Southwest, and Beard Realty. Her work ethic and love for the job was made obvious by the countless number of houses she sold and the numerous awards she received over the years. The legacy that she has built for over 40 years will continue to thrive through her granddaughter Nicole Fenwick.

Anita found joy in simple things like reading a good book, doing puzzles, sitting on the patio, and Friday nights with her best friends. She looked at nature to see blessings in life. The fullness of the trees, birds chirping and sounds of nature were treasured. Anita loved sitting by the water, whether at her pool, the lake, or the beach. She often referred to the time outside as Grammy’s sunshine therapy. The biggest lesson she has left with her family is gratefulness. Anita was grateful for her life. She often said she had done everything she wanted to do and would not change anything about her life. The hard times made her stronger and made her appreciate all the blessings in her life even more.
