Janet Stulting Stone passed away unexpected­ly, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, May 1, 2022 while on vacation in Nashville, Tennessee. Janet was born on July 27, 1957 in Houston, Texas, the daughter of James Toliver Stulting and Margaret Knight Stulting. She grew up in Houston in the Sagemont community where she attended Sagemont Baptist Church with her family. Janet graduated from J. Frank Dobie High School in 1975. Janet and her twin sister Janice were members of the Dobie Lariaettes drill team.

Janet attended Southwest Texas State University in

San Marcos, Texas where she was a member of the Delta Zeta Sorority. She earned her Bachelor of Business Administra­tion degree from The University of Houston in 1979 and began her career in sales.

In 1984 Janet went to work for Pennzoil (later Shell) as the first female salesperso­n. She quickly became one of the top sales producers and her success continued throughout her career. As a result of her status as a top producer, Janet was often rewarded with trips in which she and her husband Steve were able to travel across the globe. In 2008, Janet was awarded with the title of Top 100 Sales Gladiators in the world, a title with which she took great pride in achieving. Janet loved her career and was known for her dedication and sincere care for each of her customers. She mentored many and developed lifelong relationsh­ips during her time at Shell. Janet retired in 2018 after thirty and a half years at Shell, which she found extremely fulfilling.

In Janet’s spare time, she enjoyed traveling, yoga, attending bible study, going out to eat with her husband and their many friends, shopping with her twin sister and nieces, spending time with her great nieces and nephews, and she recently developed a love for the game of pickle ball. Janet was a social butterfly and loved by all who knew her. She was an incredible wife, sister, aunt, and friend. She was truly one of a kind and will be missed greatly by many.

Janet was predecease­d by her parents, James and Margaret Stulting, and her brother James (Jimmy) Stulting. She is survived by her husband of thirty-two years, Steve Stone, her sister Janice Fox (husband Rick Fox), stepson Eric Stone (wife Shelley Stone) and their two children, her niece Amy Keith (husband Braden Keith) and their two children, her niece Melissa Talamas (husband Edward Talamas) and their two children, as well as many cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 11th at 10:00am at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral Home, 6900 Lawndale Street, Houston, Texas 77013. The memorial service will begin at 11:00am at Forest Park Lawndale Funeral home, followed by a graveside burial service.
