JEANNE REBECCA (HARRIS) PULLEYN

-

1927-2022

Jeanne Rebecca (Harris) Pulleyn, 94, peacefully entered her heavenly resting place on April 15, 2022. As a result of her strong faith, Jeanne is in the hands of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and is united with her loving husband, Lyle, who preceded her in passing.

Jeanne was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on August 23, 1927 to Mark and Marguerite Curry Harris. Jeanne spent much of her life in the Houston and Pasadena areas, in addition to living with her family in Minot, North Dakota and Okinawa, Japan during Lyle’s assignments as an officer of the United States Air Force.

Jeanne was very active in the United Methodist Church all her life. She served in many areas of the church including The Parlor Committee, United Methodist Women, The World Wide and Friendship Classes, and the Society of St. Stephen. Jeanne even stepped way out of her comfort zone and joined the handbell choir!

Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Joshua Hilsee and siblings Mildred Smith, Jack Harris and nieces Meredith Shepherd, Lianne Shepherd and Rebecca Carnley. Jeanne is survived by her sister, Jane Shepherd (David), sister-inlaw Mary Ellen Harris, and her daughters Karen (Dave) Hilsee, Karol (Terry) Gaul and Kay (Wayne) Shoffit.

Also surviving her are her much loved grandchildren “Granny’s precious angels” David (Jessi), Rebecca(Matt), Jamie Lynn, Kellen (Laura),

Logan (Monica), Erin (Jessica), Kristin (Tim) and Kim Shoffit. Jeanne is also survived by her adored great grands Lachlan, Bronwen, Caleb, Micah, Cameron, Margot, Hannah, Joseph and Eleanor, all of whom called her “GG”. In addition Jeanne is survived by many beloved nieces and nephews and her grandnieces and grandnephews.

Jeanne was the most admired wife, mother,

Granny, GG, sister, aunt and friend. She had a very kind, patient and gentle spirit and she always saw the best in everyone. Jeanne possessed a great love for others and never met a stranger. Jeanne was the pillar of love, joy, and faith for our family. We fondly remember her endearing laugh and warm smile; her giving heart, her love for children; playful nature, her family gatherings and traditions; and her unwavering support and loyalty to all those she loved. May Jeanne’s example of graciousness and love continue to inspire us all.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests consideration of donations to the Alzheimer’s Research Foundation or to Revive Church’s Recap Ministry.

A celebration of life service will be held later in the year.
