HistoryMaker builds GHBA Benefit home in Sunterra
It is a 2,777 sq. ft. two-story plan with three bedrooms and 2½ baths.
HistoryMaker Homes, a two-time Benefit Homes builder, has begun construction on their Hemlock plan in the new community of Sunterra, a Land Tejas development. The Benefit Homes Project is a Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) charity fundraiser that enlists local builders to construct a home with donated materials and services from GHBA members. The homes are built with all of the in-demand features and amenities of today's homebuyer. Once the home is sold, proceeds benefit two charities — HomeAid Houston and Operation Finally Home. This 42-yearold charity has raised over $12 million.
Land Tejas's Sunterra is a 1,039-acre master planned community that is located in Katy Independent School District and convenient to Katy area dining and shopping. There is also access toGrand Parkway and I-10 west. Amenities will include a 3.5-acre Crystal Lagoon for kayaking, swimming, standup paddleboarding, or just relaxing on the white sandy beach. There will also be an expansive amenity village that will feature a clubhouse and pool that overlook the lagoon.
HistoryMaker chose to build its Hemlock plan as their Benefit home because it is an open-concept design. It is a 2,777 sq. ft. twostory plan with three bedrooms and 2½ baths. The home offers a media room and game room on the second floor, a downstairs master suite with walkin closet, a dual vanity and a separate tub and shower. The home also includes a covered patio and large garage.
“Sunterra is the perfect backdrop to our numerous plans we offer in this new community,” said HistoryMaker Houston division president, Mickey Pizzitola. “We are honored that Land Tejas, the community developer was generous enough to donate a lot in an area of Katy that is growing quickly. We anticipate this home will sell before it is even completed.”
Family owned and operated since 1949, HistoryMaker Homes launched in Dallas-Fort Worth and expanded over the decades to become a premier builder of more than 800 homes across the region in 16 developments.
Throughout the 42-year history of the GHBA Benefit Homes Project, more than 110 homes have been built with the help of donations. For more information visit www.ghba.org or call 281-970-8970.
