Bellamy, Rice down Florida Internatio­nal

India Bellamy had 20 points, six rebounds, four blocks and three steals to lead Rice to a 67-58 victory over Florida Internatio­nal on Saturday at Tudor Fieldhouse.

Malia Fisher added 19 points for the Owls (17-6, 8-6 Conference USA), who have won four of their last five games.

Rice added 21 points off of 20 FIU turnovers and outscored the Panthers in the paint 36-20.

“This game was the most important game because it was our next one and we did what we needed to do to get a win,” Rice coach Lindsay Edmonds said. “I thought India was huge in the game with 20 points and Malia obviously with 19 points.”

Kaliah Henderson had a game-high 27 points for the Panthers (12-12, 7-8).

Nina De Leon Negron scored 15 points and Brenna Perez and Jorja Elliott added 11 apiece as the Cardinals beat the Huskies at San Antonio.

UIW (10-13, 5-8 Southland) scored 19 points off the Huskies' 20 turnovers.

N'Denasija Collins led HCU (11-13, 6-7) with 11 points and 11 rebounds.

DeYona Gaston and Shaylee Gonzales scored 16 points apiece and Taylor Jones had a doubledoub­le and the host Longhorns posted their seventh straight victory.

Jones scored 15 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and blocked five shots and Rori Harmon scored 13 for Texas (20-6, 11-2 Big 12).

The Longhorns overcame 2-for-11 shooting from 3-point range, 6 for 12 foul shooting and 17 turnovers by shooting 31 of 67 (46.3 percent) from the field, and forcing

TCU into 27 turnovers.

Tomi Taiwo scored 15 points and Lucy Ibeh and Paige Bradley each scored 12 for TCU (6-18, 0-13). The Horned Frogs have lost 13 in a row.

Leah Morrow netted 19 points as host Grambling sent Texas Southern to its eighth consecutiv­e loss.

Andriana Avent led the TSU (1-21, 1-8 SWAC) with 19 points.

Anna Gret Asi scored 15 points as the Cowgirls won at Stillwater, Okla.

Caitlin Bickled led Baylor (16-8, 7-5 Big 12) with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Oklahoma State (18-7, 8-5) never trailed.

Chloe Fleming had 13 points and four assists as the Jaguars cruised to a win at Baton Rouge, La.

Raven White had 12 rebounds and seven points for Southern (1012, 7-4 SWAC).

Dorka Juhász had 18 points and 15 rebounds to help the Huskies win at Washington.

Aubrey Griffin added 18 points for Connecticu­t (22-4, 14-1 Big East), which was coming off back-to-back losses for the first time since 1993.

Freshman Kennedy Fauntleroy had a gamehigh 24 points for struggling Georgetown (12-13, 5-11).

Tayianna Jackson had 24 points and 11 rebounds and Zakiyah Franklin added 20 points and five assists as the Jayhawks won at Lubbock.

Bryn Gerlich and Bre'Amber Scott scored 18 points apiece for Texas Tech (16-10, 4-9 Big 12).

UTEP 79, UTSA 52

Elyssa Coleman led the team with 19 points while also collecting six boards. Jordyn Jenkins was the only other Roadrunner to score in double digits, putting up 10 points along with a team-high nine rebounds as UTSA fell at El Paso.
