HistoryMaker closes on GHBA
Benefit home in Sunterra
HistoryMaker Homes recently closed on their Greater Houston Builders Association (GHBA) Benefit home that was built with donated materials, services and labor by GHBA member companies. The home was purchased by Michael and Rachael Hohmann, who had recently moved from Cincinnatti. Joining the Hohmann’s at the closing was Scott Merovitch, the Benefit Homes Chairman; Mike Dishberger, president of GHBA; Bobby McNeese, HistoryMaker sales counselor; Kendyl Maurer-Somer, Realtor with Weichert Realtors and Sharon Mendoza, HistoryMaker sales counselor.
The Benefit home was sold at market value and proceeds from the sale will be presented to two local charities, HomeAid Houston and Operation Finally Home. Since the Project began 43 years ago, $13M has been raised. The lot was also donated by Land Tejas in the community of Sunterra.
HistoryMaker’s Hemlock Plan is a 2,777 sq. ft. 2-story design with 3 bedrooms and 2.5 baths. The home offers a media room and game room on the second floor, a downstairs master suite with spacious walk-in closet, a dual vanity and a separate tub and shower. The floorplan is an open concept for easy entertaining and family gatherings, and the tall ceilings and box windows add to the spacious feeling. The home also includes a covered patio and large garage.
“We were impressed with the floorplan as it offered the space we needed for our family that includes four children,” said Rachael Hohmann. “The Hemlock is an open design that will provide great family time and an amazing place to be, as our children grow.”
The Hohmanns also were aware the Hemlock was a GHBA Benefit home. “Knowing the sale of this home raises valuable funds for two local charities, was an added bonus,” Michael added.
Family owned and operated since 1949, HistoryMaker Homes launched in Dallas-Fort Worth and expanded over the decades to become a premier builder of more than 800 homes across the region in 16 developments.
