Jack M. Lane passed away in Houston, Texas on Tuesday, March 14th at the age of 90. He was born on July 24th, 1932 in Arkansas and was the only child of Clara and Luther Lane. At the age of 18, he enlisted in the Air Force, meeting his wife and love of 70 years, Lois King, in Clovis, New Mexico.

After the Air Force, Jack began his long career in the oil and gas industry for Dresser Industries. Work took Jack and Lois, and their four young children, all over the world, living in Germany, Libya, and London. His working years were filled with adventure and instilled a lifelong love of travel in his family.

His later years proved to be no less precious. After living overseas, Jack and Lois settled in Sugarland, with the joy of loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a point of great pride in both of their lives.

Jack was generous and kind and made a point to ask about those around him. He loved Blue Bell ice cream, telling stories about the “old days”, and a Cohiba at dusk. “Grandad” was a master joke teller, and his laugh and wisdom will be missed by many.

Jack is survived by his wife of 70 years, Lois Lane; children Brent Lane and wife Mary Ann, Amy Lane, Jenny Savage Ibrahim and husband Dr. Majed Ibrahim; grandchildren Brittany Blitzer and husband Dr. David Blitzer,

Dr. Ashley Becker and husband Fred, Alexander Rubin and wife Hannah, Olivia Guyton and husband Chase, Maria Ibrahim, Mohamad Ibrahim and wife Celine, Sara Reda and husband Ghaleb, Mohannad Ibrahim and wife Heba; and great-grandchildren Naomi Becker, Leonora Blitzer, Karim, Celina, and Sarah Abu-Nasr, Chloe and Jade Ibrahim, Amir Jack Reda, and Monica Lane, as well as loving extended family. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jacquelynn “Lynndy” Rubin, and grandsons Ian Lane and Jack Savage.

Services will be held on Monday, March 27th at 2:15 pm at the Houston National Cemetery, 10410 Veterans Memorial Drive, Houston, TX, with a private interment immediately following. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jack Savage Foundation (JackSavageFoundation.org) benefiting MD Anderson Children’s Cancer Hospital.
