LYNN E. OBENHAUS

Lynn E Obenhaus, 75, of Katy, passed away April 6, 2024. He was born May 28, 1948, in Houston, Texas to the late John E Obenhaus and Aline Alma Obenhaus (Tietze). Lynn was devoted to his loving wife, Victoria “Vicky” of 49 years. He is survived by Vicky, his two sons Timothy and his wife Kristi (Brooker), Jeffrey, and grandchildren, Krista, Allison, Amanda, Matthew, and Hannah.

As a Marine Corps Veteran and Eagle Scout, Lynn exuded honor and commitment. He served in our Nation’s military from 1967 to 1973, serving in active duty in the US Marine Corps from July 1967 to

July 1969. He then served as a reservist with the Army National Guard of Texas until July 1973. He was an active hobbyist, whose chief interests included anything related to guns and shooting, fishing, military history (particularly Vietnam and WW2’s Pacific theatre), and cooking.

Lynn had a long and successful career in the insurance industry. He joined the John L. Wortham and Sons brokerage in October 1972 and worked there until his retirement in June 2014. Lynn was made a partner in the firm in September 1984. He chose a challenging, yet rewarding, career, which allowed him to do what he loved most; create and foster relationships with other people. His role allowed him to serve many clients with a personal touch, most of whom he would call friends. Many of those friends remained close to him after his retirement, both in his heart and in his life.

Lynn could present warmth to a stranger, just as he did his beloved friends and family. Lynn’s love and fondness for his wife and family are forever missed and remembered.

A celebration of Lynn’s life is planned to be held at the Katy Funeral Home, 23350 Kingsland Blvd, Katy, TX 77494 on April 19, 2024. There will be a viewing from noon to 2pm, with a service from 2pm to 3pm.
