Medical complex on the way
CHI St. Luke’s Health system broke ground on a $110 million medical facility in the developing Springwoods community that is grown around the new Exxon Mobile complex under construction. The new campus is on 23 acres at the Grand Parkway and Holzworth Road north of FM 2920. Longterm plans call for a 300-bed hospital in the complex.
CHI St. Luke’s Health held a groundbreaking ceremony Wednesday for its $110 million medical facility near the Exxon Mobil campus and just south of its hospital in The Woodlands.
The new medical campus will be on 23 acres at the new Grand Parkway and Holzworth Road in Springwoods Village.
Initial plans call for a 55,000-square-foot ambulatory center combined with a 100,000-squarefoot medical office building with space for more than 30doctors.
The facility will provide emergency services, diagnostic imaging and outpatient surgery.
It is to be completed late next year.
“Springwoods Village exemplifies sustainable, healthy living – a goal we share – promoting worklife balance, prevention and community health,” Debra F. Sukin, president of CHI St. Luke’s Health’s The Woodlands Hospital & Lakeside Hospital, said in a written statement.
“We are excited to continue our strong legacy within the region by expanding our clinical programs, new models of care and cost-effective treatment options.”
The project includes a long-term master plan with a 300-bed hospital and more than 600,000 square feet of medical office space.
Over the next five years, CHI St. Luke’s Health is committed to investing as muchas $70million toward projects within the master plan, officials have said.
