Enhancements abound at Brazos Towers at Bayou Manor

-

With the construction of the new 14-story residential tower at Brazos Towers at Bayou Manor well under way, the community is giving it and its sister tower some special distinction. The new tower will be called the East Tower, while the existing tower will be known as the West Tower.

“Formally named geographic references makes sense,” said Mike Wallace, director of marketing for Brazos Towers at Bayou Manor. “Bayou Manor is more than a building, it’s the entire campus, our whole community. We want to honor the legacy of our initial building, the West Tower, which is receiving its own extensive renovation amidst the building of the East Tower.”

Brazos Towers at Bayou Manor is undergoing extensive upgrades of the community’s healthcare center as well. Nearly all residences inside the health care center will soon be private and feature private bathrooms, something not generally found in many senior living communities.

“The first floor renovations were completed earlier this year, providing a warm and welcoming entrance for residents to enjoy,” Wallace said. “There is a new covered entrance, new furniture and window treatments, and a renovated solarium for all types of group activities. We’ve also built an open-air courtyard that will be landscaped later this year.”

The second and third floors of the health-care center are receiving similar treatment this summer, and feature new paint, flooring, furniture and artwork. The design moves away from the medical model and to a household model in which the residential feel is more homelike and less clinical.

The changes to the health-care center are in conjunction with the new one- and two-bedroom independent living apartment homes opening this time next year.
