One of William Shakespeare’s most popular comedies, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” comes to the Houston Family Arts Center, June 12-July 5.

Directed by Brandi Baldwin, performances are Friday and Saturday evenings with Sunday matinees on the Garza Main Stage.

Baldwin says “What makes this production of a ‘Midsummer’ unique is that we take the time at the beginning of the show to provide some background into Oberon and Titania’s feud over the changeling boy.

“This is one of Shakespeare’s more magical plays so what I tried to do was infuse that magic throughout the show by creating an atmosphere of magic in the theater through setting, lighting and music.

“Having worked in interactive theater I wanted to bring an element of that into the show by breaking the fourth wall and having my fairies and magical creatures interacting with the audience both before the show and during intermission.”
