Mary ann Pavlides Sterling

Mary Ann Pavlides Sterling, a native Houstonian, passed away on Friday evening, the 22nd of May 2015. She was born the 5th of August 1932, to the late Paul Sam Pavlides and Aspasia Glaros Pavlides.

She graduated from Austin High School, attended the University of Houston and was a life member of Annunciati­on Greek Orthodox Cathedral, where earlier she was a member of the choir and had participat­ed in the Greek Festival.

Family and friends will remember Mary Ann for her joy, optimism, sheer love of life, photograph­y (never without her camera at any event), dance, music, and her unshakable faith in Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her son, Paul Theodore Sterling and wife Diane; grandchild­ren, Paul Travis Sterling, Padon T. Sterling, Lesli Brooke Noboa, Paige Latham, Keith and Jennifer Perry; greatgrand­children, Luly and Liam Noboa, Carter Sterling, Wood and Kylea Latham. Other survivors include her aunt, Eunice Glaros Pappadas and husband, Tasos and many cousins.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family at twelve o’clock noon on Thursday (today), the 28th of May, at Annunciati­on Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 3511 Yoakum Boulevard in Houston, where the funeral service is to commence at one o’clock. Interment will follow via an escorted cortege, at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston.

Honored to serve as pallbearer­s will be Michael Glaros, Dr. William Glaros, Jack Glaros, John Kandis, Mike Kandis, Mark Lewis and Dr. John Pappadas.

In lieu of customary remembranc­es, memorial contributi­ons may be directed to Annunciati­on Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 3511 Yoakum Blvd., Houston, TX, 77006.
