Olive Garden, Alamo Drafthouse recognize first responders
On Labor Day more than 800 Olive Garden Restaurants nationwide delivered to their local first responders special “Thank You” lunches to fire stations, police stations or emergency rooms. This is the 14th consecutive year for Olive Garden to deliver the lunches to those who serve their communities.
Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Katy also announces its First Responder Appreciation program. Through Sunday, Sept. 20, firefighters, police officers and EMS can bring up to three friends or family members to any movie at any time for free.
“We are enormously grateful for the service and sacrifice of our local first responders, and we want to give back in the best way we know how … with the gift of movies,” said Emily Henson, a spokewoman for Alamo Drafthouse Cinema.

Boyert Shooting Center Katy grand opening
Grand opening for the Boyert Shooting Center, 1200 S. Mason Road, Katy, is 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, and 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 13.
The newly remodeled state-of-the-art shooting center has 25 live fire shooting lanes, simulator rooms, firearm retail center, firearm training classes and CHL certification. Guests of the event will have the opportunity to enter a multiple firearm giveaway, take advantage of retail sales, food trucks (Fat Bao, Stab it, and Kona Sno-Cones), firearm vendors on site, special guests (Houston Texans Cheerleaders, Saturday 1–3 p.m. and Erica Rico, Sunday 1-3 p.m.), and more.
