Institute will offer network technology
University of Houston-Clear Lake’s Cyber Security Institute will offer “Introduction to Network Technology” Oct. 2–24, Fridays, 1–6 p.m. and Saturdays, 8 a.m.–1 p.m., in the university’s Delta Building, room 158A, 2700 Bay Area Blvd., Houston.
This course will cover network technologies, installation and configuration, media and topologies, management and security, and will prepare students for the Cisco’s Certified Network Technician or CompTIA’s Network+ certification.

Fair connects volunteers to cause
Find the perfect service/ volunteer opportunity at the Community Service Fair Sept. 9, noon–4 p.m., in University of HoustonClear Lake’s Bayou Building, Atrium II, 2700 Bay Area Blvd., Houston.
Representatives from organizations that support societal issues such as animal rights, education, homelessness, mental health and other issues will talk about volunteer opportunities.
Although this fair is a resource for students, members of the community are also welcome to come learn about volunteer opportunities.
The event is hosted by UHCL’s Student Leadership, Involvement and Community Engagement program.

Fall open house set in October
Find out more about University of HoustonClear Lake at the fall Open House Oct. 3, 9 a.m.–12:30 p.m., in the university’s Student Services and Classroom Building, 2700 Bay Area Blvd., Houston.
Prospective transfer and graduate students will meet with faculty members, enrollment management counselors, financial aid representatives and admissions counselors.
Participants will also have the chance to sit down with an admissions counselor for an on-the-spot admissions decision.
Students hoping to participate in on-the-spot admission should bring all necessary admissions documents.
