- By Allen Jones

The Fort Bend health care industry will be on display at the 2015 Health and Wellness Expo this week in Sugar Land.

Featuring booths related to the health and wellness industry, the expo will be 4:30–7 p.m. Sept. 10 at CHI S. Luke’s Health – Sugar Land Hospital, 1317 Lake Pointe Parkway.

The Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce is hosting the event, which is in its fourth year. There is no fee to attend the event.

“The event is geared to everyone, both medical professionals and the general public,” said Matthew Ferraro, chamber director of programs and expo coordinator.

“We have confirmed urgent care facilities, emergency rooms, hospitals, dentists, assisted living centers, physical therapy centers, restorative centers, etc...,” said Ferraro, who expects to see 200 to 250 guests attend.

The expo is held in conjunction with the chamber’s Network Nites, a program the business advocacy organization hosts for its members to help them develop new business contacts. Visit the chamber’s website at www. fortbendchamber.com. Whole Foods supports education initiatives

Shoppers at Whole Foods Market in Sugar Land can help the chain raise funds for education.

Stores are taking part in the company’s Community Giving Days initiative and will donate 5 percent of a day’s net sales to groups dedicated to education.

Whole Foods, 15900 Southwest Freeway, will host its fundraiser Sept. 19. A portion of sales will go to support Keep Sugar Land Beautiful, a nonprofit.
