Mrs. Ruth Francis Fowler, born in March 1929 in Louise, Texas, was called home to the Lord on September 8, 2015. Fran was an exceptiona­l mom and grandmothe­r, wonderful sister to eight (8) loving siblings, devoted aunt, and faithful friend to many. At the age of 14, Fran and sister Margo moved to the “big city” of Houston to enroll in San Jacinto High School and lived with their sister Marie and brother Carl. Fran attended the University of Houston, then worked in research at Rice out of college before launching her career with her sister Margo in the real estate industry at Coldwell Banker as a real estate agent. They later moved on to working with Betty James Realtors, Bering Properties and Weldon Rigby then going on her own for many years before retiring to enjoy her grandchild­ren, nieces and nephews. Her keen sense of humor and tireless efforts of making sure everyone around her was healthy and in a good place will always be fondly remembered and appreciate­d.

She is survived by her son Mark Thomas Fowler and grandchild­ren Halsey Gail Fowler and Ford Thompson Fowler and sibling brother Charles Vitera. She is also survived by countless nieces and nephews across the state with Joan Pratka, Leon Little and great nephew Andrew Pratka and wife Cary being from her home city, Houston. Fran was an incredibly sweet and loving woman who will be greatly missed by all.

Fran devoted herself to the Lord; she lived fully immersed in Bible doctrine adopted through her faithful studies at Berachah Church. A visitation service will be held on Friday, September 11th from 4:00 - 7:00 pm at Earthman Funeral Home in Hunters Creek, Houston at 8303 Katy Freeway (713) 465-8900. The burial service will held on Saturday, September 12th at 12:00pm at Memorial Oaks Cemetery at 13001 Katy Freeway between Hwy. 6 and Eldridge, the specific plot site location is within Texas Gazebo Section 214 near the Reflection Lake Estates. A reception celebratin­g her life will be held immediatel­y following the burial service a short drive from the cemetery.
