Cecilia Alcoser Garcia

-

1957-2015

Cecilia Alcoser Garcia, 58, lost her battle to Brain Cancer on the morning of September 6, 2015 at 3:30am at her Mother’s home. Cecilia was born on March 7, 1957 in San Antonio, Texas and lived a happy and rewarding life. She attended Christ the King Catholic School in the Heights and graduated from Incarnate Word Academy in Houston in 1976. She cherished her classmates and worked hard to stay in communication with them as well as everyone she met throughout her life. Cecilia worked for the Banking Industry (Texas Commerce/ JP Morgan/Chase Bank) for over 30 years from an Executive Accounts Coordinator to the Trust Fund Accounts Department. In her last few years of her life, she worked at All Saints Catholic Church as Pastoral Assistant and taught CCE classes. Cecilia loved her job working for Father Adam as Pastoral Assistant as well as with all of the people, clergy, staff, and parishioners. She loved them all. Cecilia was blessed with one daughter, Carmene Garcia Juarez, who was her pride and joy. She was very proud of the woman she had become, loved and cherished her and the family she had created. Cecilia loved spending time with her Mother and family at all times outside of work. She enjoyed dancing and spending time with friends, attending UH football games and was the ultimate cat lover. Cecilia participated in the MS-150 for ten straight years and always looked forward to the challenge. She also loved to decorate for weddings and special events. Cecilia was an angel of God living on earth as she was always expressing her friendship and generosity with everyone, even strangers at a bus stop. She was always willing to help those in need without hesitation. Whatever the adversity, she was there to lend a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on, or an ear for listening. She touched many lives with her kindness and was always giving of herself. This was her life, her mission. Cecilia had a strong will and fought until the very end. We’d like to acknowledge and give our appreciation to the people of All Saints Catholic Church, the Guadalupanas, and the Knights of Columbus for their generosity, fund raisers, and support of Cecilia and our family during these difficult times. Cecilia was preceded in death by her grandparents, Manuel and Paulina Alcoser, Jose and Manuela Casarez and her niece Pamela Alcoser. Cecilia is survived by her daughter Carmene Garcia Juarez and her husband Emerson Juarez, her grandchildren, Amaya, Sophia and Emerson Jr.; her parents Janie Casarez Alcoser and Ambrose Alcoser Sr. and his wife Susie Alcoser; her brothers and sisters, Mary Jane Flores, Maggie Alcoser-Marquez, Ambrose A.
