Halloween is in the rearview mirror, which means that we’re careening toward the busiest, most bustling weeks on the calendar. Catch your breath because it’s coming.

Moonlight Ramble

Thousands of cyclists will roll through downtown Houston for the 43rd annual Moonlight Bicycle Ramble. The event starts just south of the George R. Brown Convention Center and offers 10and 20-mile routes. The evening includes prizes for best lighted bike and best costume. Bicycle lights and CPSC-approved helmets are required to ride. ‘ZooZoo’

Imago Theatre, a troupe known for its acrobatics and illusions, will present “ZooZoo” at Miller Outdoor Theatre. Combining mime and dance, the troupe will give life to polar bears, anteaters, hippos, rabbits and penguins in a show recommende­d for ages 3 and older. Night at the Star

Explore Texas history by flashlight during the annual Night at the Star of the Republic Museum at Washington-on-the-Brazos State Historic Site. The lights of the museum will be turned down and costumed characters will be on hand to tell the story of the Texas Republic. British Festival

Sponsored by the Daughters of the British Empire, this 42nd annual festival will include traditiona­l folk dancing and music, as well as a market filled with handmade gifts and homemade cakes, jellies and pies. Festivalgo­ers will be able to dine on a traditiona­l pub lunch or enjoy afternoon tea. Salute to the military

The 60-acre Kemah Boardwalk will be transforme­d into a walking tour of the U.S. military for three days. The boardwalk’s salute to the military will include a children of fallen soldiers parade, K-9 and ROTC demonstrat­ions, live music, exhibits, vehicles, helicopter­s and a parachutin­g presentati­on.
