Miss Emily Wyatt Walton Weds Mr. Mark Steven Calver

Miss Emily Wyatt Walton and Mr. Mark Steven Calver were united in marriage on Saturday, January 16, 2016 at seven o’clock in the evening at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. The Reverend Doctor Thomas Jennings Pace III officiated at the double ring ceremony. Music was provided by organist Marvin Gaspard and soloists Blair Doerge and David Lee. Scripture readings were delivered by friend of the bride, Mrs. Shelley West Nakazawa, and by the groom’s brother, Mr. Matthew Paul Calver. The reception followed at the Houston Country Club with music provided by I Love This Band from Atlanta, Georgia. On the eve of the wedding the rehearsal dinner was held at The Forest Club.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Dan Gibson Walton and the late Mr. Dan Gibson Walton of Houston, Texas. She is the granddaugh­ter of Mr. and Mrs. Ponce de Leon Sandlin, Jr. of Jasper, Florida and the late Honorable and Mrs. Dan Edward Walton of Houston, Texas. The groom is the son of Ms. Renee Gaertner Jergins of Arcadia, California and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Robert Calver of Santa Clarita, California. He is the grandson of Mrs. Adam Gaertner and the late Mr. Adam Gaertner of Arcadia, California and Ms. Donna Jean Calver and the late Mr. Robert Lionel Calver of Arcadia, California. Given in marriage by her mother and brother, the bride wore a couture gown designed by Monique Lhuillier. The long sleeved ivory silk tulle dress featured a Chantilly lace illusion neckline with trellis embroidery overlay that cascaded to the bottom of the dress. The modified A-line skirt fell into a soft circular sweep train accented with layers of the lace. To complement the gown, the bride wore a light ivory cathedral length veil with Chantilly lace, and for the reception, she wore a Swarovski crystal and pearl headband designed by Toni Federice. The bride’s bouquet featured ivory gardenias, garden roses, astibe, and hydrangea with accents of dusty miller and silver dollar eucalyptus.

Ms. Crystal Boeker Walton of Spring, Texas served as Maid of Honor. The groom’s sister, Miss Heather Cher Calver of Santa Clarita, California served as the Junior Bridesmaid, and the bride’s niece, Miss Cambrey Cole Walton of Spring, Texas served as the flower girl. Bridesmaid­s included Mrs. Alaina Cunningham Calver, sister-in-law of the groom of Long Beach, California; Miss Julia Lees Allen of San Francisco, California; Miss Sarah Mellancamp Fleckman of London, England; Miss Mary Elizabeth Hayes of Washington, D.C.; Miss Barbara Louise Palmquist of Houston, Texas; Mrs. Lauren Stewart Woolsey of Dallas, Texas and Mrs. Aline Anspach Kukanza and Miss Sara Knight Meadows, both of New York City. They wore floor length tulle gowns of Mayan blue designed by Jenny Yoo and carried bouquets of ivory tulips and cuff greenery. Mr. Reagan Austin Hartwig of Austin, Texas served as the Best Man. Groomsmen included Mr. Christophe­r Michael Calver of Monrovia, California, Mr. Jake Ryan Calver of Santa Clarita, California, Mr. Matthew Paul Calver of Long Beach, California, all brothers of the groom; Mr. Paul Adam Gaertner, uncle of the groom of Arcadia, California; Mr. Joseph Peter Cogliandro of Houston, Texas; Mr. Samuel Del Real of Houston, Texas and Beverly Hills, California; Mr. Joshua Taylor Rupp of Valencia, California; and the bride’s brother, Mr. Cole Gibson Walton of The Woodlands, Texas. Serving as ushers were Mr. Andrew Hill Walton, cousin of the bride, Mr. Jacob Curtis Tueffert, both of Houston, Texas; Mr. John Edward Manigold of Dickinson, Texas; and Mr. Tremon Trevor McGrath of San Antonio, Texas.

The bride is a graduate of St. John’s School in Houston, Texas and The University of Virginia in Charlottes­ville, Virginia where she received a bachelor of arts degree in Spanish and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She is currently a real estate agent with Connect Realty in The Woodlands, Texas. The groom is a graduate of Valencia High School in Valencia, California and the Brooks Institute of Photograph­y in Santa Barbara, California where he received a bachelor of arts degree in commercial film production. He is a co-owner of Dakine Films and owner of Dynamic Dwellings, a real estate film company. In addition, he is a real estate agent with Connect Realty in The Woodlands, Texas. Following their honeymoon in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, Mark and Emily will reside in The Woodlands, Texas.
