JOHN MUSACHIA, JR.

1925-2016

John Musachia, Jr., born in Houston, Texas on June 8, 1925, went home to the Lord, Tuesday, January 12, 2016, at the age of 90 years. John was a kind and gentle man.

John is preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Oggero Musachia, father, John T. Musachia, mother, Jennie Pizzitola Musachia, brother, Joseph Frank Musachia, sister, Josephine Johnston and husband, William C. Johnston. He is survived by sister-in-law, Louise Musachia, brother-in-law John B. Oggero and wife Rose Oggero, sister-in-law, Antoinette Oggero and numerous nieces, nephews and god-children.

John honorably served his country in the U. S. Navy during World War II and was trained and served as a part of a group that would eventually be the forerunner of what is now the Navy Seals. He was an Honorary Member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of the Sacred Heart Society.

The family will receive friends from 9:00am until 10:00am on Saturday, January 23, 2016, with the Mass of Resurrecti­on following at 10:00am at The Warren Chapel in St. Dominic Village, 2401 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, Texas 77021 with Father Roy Oggero officiatin­g. Rite of Committal will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearer­s are Joseph (Jo-Jo) Musachia, Tommy Musachia, Thomas Musachia, Mark Glorioso, Steve Oggero and George Oggero.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and C.A.’s of St. Dominic Village, with a special thanks to Vitas Hospice, for their care and assistance given to John.

In lieu of customary remembranc­es, contributi­ons in John’s honor may be made to the Oggero Family Scholarshi­p at St. Thomas High School, 4500 Memorial Drive, Houston, Texas 77007.
