Rockets update: James Harden had triple-doubles in two of his past three games and averaged a triple-double of 26.5 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in four games last week. … Center Dwight Howard missed the past two games with a sprained ankle but is expected to return sometime on the three-game road trip. … Pat Beverley returned to the starting lineup Sunday, with the Rockets using their 16th starting lineup of the season. … The Rockets are in the first of two sets of back-to-backs this week. They are 5-6 when playing the second game in as many nights. Pelicans update: After their rout of the Bucks on Saturday, New Orleans has won its past three games and five of six. … The Pelicans’ bench is averaging a leaguehigh 42.1 points per game, led by Ryan Anderson, whose average of 16.9 points per game is the most for any player that has come off the bench for 20 or more games. … Anthony Davis is the only player averaging 20 points 10 rebounds and two blocked shots. … Forward Quincy Pondexter (knee) and guard Eric Gordon (finger) are out for the game. Statistica­lly speaking: The Rockets had just nine turnovers Sunday and have averaged 12.4 in their past five games. They had at least 16 turnovers in their previous seven games (averaging 17.6 per game.) Their average of 16.4 is fourth-most in the NBA.
