DALE LEACOCK

1941-2016

-

Dale Leacock passed peacefully from this life to his eternal life in Heaven on Saturday, the 6th of February 2016.

Dale was born on the 24th of July 1941, in Houston, Texas, where he lived for fifty years. Houston would always be home, the city where he was one of the fashion leaders. Dale’s career in ladies fashion began by managing his Aunt Isabell Gerhart’s three fashion stores. In 1978, he opened his own store on Post Oak Blvd., L’Elite. For the next twenty-one years, Dale dressed many of Houston’s most fashionable ladies. He loved and cherished this time in his life. Dale closed his beautiful store in 1999 and began a career in real estate. In 2001, he moved to the Texas Hill Country; another exciting chapter in his life. Always ready for a new adventure, Dale moved to Santa Fe in 2014. He embraced the beauty and rich culture of his new home in New Mexico.

Dale is survived by his loving partner of thirty-eight years, Barry Hargrove. Dale and Barry were legally married in January 2015. Also surviving are several cousins; lifelong friend, Lester Baca- risse; and a host of beautiful friends.

Dale will always be remembered for his charm and amazingly quick wit. He was like a magnet in the room, drawing laughs and fun into all situations.

Friends are cordially invited to a visitation with the family from four o’clock in the afternoon until seven o’clock in the evening on Friday, the 12th of February, in the library and grand foyer of Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive in Houston.

The graveside service will be conducted at eleven o’clock in the morning on Saturday, the 13th of February, at Brookside Memorial Park Cemetery, 13747 Eastex Freeway in Houston.

In lieu of usual remembrances, memorial contributions may be directed to the Cancer Foundation for New Mexico, PO Box 5038, Santa Fe, NM, 87502. Dale cared deeply for the mission and focus of this Foundation.
