Exhibit has French focus

Two exhibits continue being displayed through May 14 at the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts. “The French Connection: Portraits from a Texas “and “A Collector’s Passion: The Works of Noel H. Leaver” are the museum’s centerpieces in its two main galleries; they’re joined by “Fused Glass Fish,” an exhibit of the work of third- and fourth-graders from the John Cooper School that runs until March 29.

Works displayed in “The French Connection” showcase the influence of French artists from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Leaver, an English watercolorist who died in 1951, was known for his attention to architectural detail — 30 of his works are on loan to the museum from Austin collector Carl Carter.
