Server Mon­key do­nates to tour­ney

A Spring Branch-area in­for­ma­tion tech­nol­ogy com­pany was the of­fi­cial equip­ment spon­sor for Gamers for Giv­ing, a com­pet­i­tive gam­ing tour­na­ment held as a fundraiser in Ann Ar­bor, Michi­gan, March 12 and 13.

The tour­na­ment raised funds for Gamers Out­reach Foun­da­tion, which builds por­ta­ble video game kiosks called “GO Karts” for hospi­tals na­tion­wide for recre­ational use by chil­dren un­der­go­ing long-term treat­ments.

ServerMon­key, lo­cated at 2130 W. Sam Hous­ton Park­way, part­nered with the foun­da­tion to host the tour­na­ment in­side East­ern Michi­gan Univer­sity’s Con­vo­ca­tion Cen­ter. Be­fore the match, Layla Wright, ServerMon­key’s CEO, said she was ex­cited to help out Gamers Out­reach, which set a fundrais­ing goal to raise $100,000. The to­tal raised dur­ing the tour­na­ment was not avail­able be­fore press time.
