Katherine Kelly Swenson Weds Stewart Lawrence White

Miss Kate Kelly Swenson and Mr. Stewart Lawrence White were united in marriage on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at half after six o’clock in the evening at Memorial Drive Presbyteri­an Church in Houston, Texas. The double ring ceremony was officiated by Reverend Brandon Gaide of Houston, Texas. Music for the ceremony was provided by organist Kathryn White and soloist Meliza Gomez. Scripture passages were read by Mrs. Erin Denise Bush and Mr. Stuart Douglas Lunn, III. Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at The Hobby Center with music provided by I Love This Band of Atlanta, Georgia. On the eve of the wedding, the parents of the groom hosted a rehearsal dinner at Asia Society Texas Center.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Patrick Swenson of Houston, Texas. She is the granddaugh­ter of Mrs. Betty Jo Sudduth of Houston, Texas, the late Mr. Charles R. Sudduth of Houston, Texas and the late Mr. and Mrs. Glen T. Swenson of Austin, Texas.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Martin White of Houston, Texas. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Elrod Walton of Houston, Texas and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Pinkney White of Houston, Texas.

Escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a custom wedding gown designed by Liancarlo. The trumpet silhouette fashioned a strapless sweetheart neckline and a fitted bodice of French Alencon lace completed by a skirt of delicate layers of tulle. A cathedral length veil with Alencon lace detailing compliment­ed her dress. Kate carried a beautifull­y composed bouquet of blush garden roses, white ranunculus and stock accompanie­d by lace from her mother’s heirloom veil.

Serving as matrons of honor were Georgia Claire Grainger of Corpus Christi, Texas and Emily Ann Owens of Houston, Texas. Bridesmaid­s included Kristine Francis Allcott of Austin, Texas, Erin Denise Bush of Redondo Beach, California, Stephanie Jean Swenson, cousin of the bride, of Denton, Texas, Elise Lockett Elliott of Dallas, Texas, Emily Robinson Asmus, Claire White Day, sister of the groom, Laura Elise Nommensen, Audrey Pustka White, sister-in-law of the groom, and Elizabeth Garland Yarotsky all of Houston, Texas.

Serving as best man was Matthew Walter White, brother of the groom, of Houston, Texas. Groomsmen included Zachary Wolfgang Ausmus, Matthew David Corcoran, William Blake Davis, Tyler Joseph Day, brother-in-law of the groom, James Joseph Hendrix, Ryan Stephen Siegfried all of Houston, Texas, Timothy Sean McGinnis of San Antonio, Texas, William Glen Swenson, brother of the bride, of Midland, Texas and Thomas Tydings Thacker, Jr. of Wichita Falls, Texas. Ushers were Joseph Edward Herman, Jeffrey Marshall Kilgore and Stuart Douglas Lunn, III all of Houston, Texas.

The bride is a 2005 graduate of Stratford High School in Houston, Texas and a 2009 graduate of The University of Texas at Austin where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in History and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. She is currently employed at Walter Oil & Gas Corporatio­n in Houston, Texas.

The groom is a 2004 graduate of Stratford High School in Houston, Texas and a 2008 graduate of The University of Texas at Austin where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Geology and was a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity. He is currently employed at Economy Polymers & Chemicals in Houston, Texas.

Following a honeymoon in St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Houston with their dog Izzy.
