Bill Baldwin takes active role in serving the community

Bill Baldwin, owner of Boulevard Realty, has been front and center lately, with photos with Houston’s mayor abounding.

Baldwin was recently named a Planning Commissioner as the Mayor’s first appointment in office. Baldwin is admittedly very active in local politics, but maintains you will not see his name on a ballot any time soon.

“People are constantly asking if I am running for some office or another, and I could not be more emphatic that I am 100 percent committed to real estate,” Baldwin said. “I simply see engaging in city government as a vocal, informed citizen to be a very important function of my job as a Realtor.”

For Baldwin, real estate is not just about focusing on the sale.

“In real estate it is important to see the long-term interests of the surrounding community, which is why I am active in many areas of the community,” Baldwin said.

As Boulevard Realty is now in its eighth full year as a full-service residential real estate firm with offices on Heights Boulevard, Kirby Drive and Galveston Island, Baldwin has put this philosophy into practice through a long record of community service.

This includes volunteer leadership of the Houston Heights Association; various governance boards of local non-profits and the Houston Association of Realtors; fundraisers like the wildly successful Friends of the Fountain crowdfunding campaign; and most recently cochairing the Quality of Life committee of Mayor Sylvester Turner’s transition.

“In every form of civic service I undertake, I learn something new that helps me better serve my buyers, sellers, developers and neighbors. The fiduciary duty I have to my clients models that of our public servants to each of us, and their negotiations are just as tireless as those I’m in daily,” Baldwin said.

All of this knowledge adds another dimension to Baldwin’s constant study of the real estate market and it always leads him to the same conclusion — Houston will always be the place to reside, work, play and prosper with an unparalleled quality of life.

Baldwin is among the top listing agents inside the Loop by volume.

“Each home I have the honor to market and sell is significant in that it’s a unique building block toward Houston’s future. Each one signifies a family or individual choosing their own place to retreat from a hard day’s work and have a sense of identity intrinsically tied to their community,” Baldwin said.

Baldwin’s main focus area is inside the Loop, an area he loves.

“I have the distinct privilege of selling the most gorgeous single-family homes in Houston’s most desirable neighborhoods, but that only means I have a proportionately greater responsibility to look out for the communities where I sell. That is my true calling,” Baldwin said.
