Food and drink bowling concept now hiring

-

A 14-lane boutique bowling and dining venue is set to open late next month, and it has several job openings.

Hiring is in progress at Bowl and Barrel, located at 797 Sorella Court, Suite 118, in the CityCentre development on Houston’s west side. The venue is looking to employ 100 to 125 people to work in front- and back-of-house jobs such as managers, servers, bartenders, cooks, line cooks, bussers and hosts. A hiring center is located directly across from the new Grimaldi’s Pizzaria at CityCentre and is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

There isn’t a deadline to submit applications, as Josh Sepkowitz, co-owner of FreeRange Concepts, the company behind Bowl and Barrel, said the company is always looking for “great talent.” Kyle Noonan, the company’s co-owner, described the bowling venue as a “fun, fast-paced environment with team members who share a passion for perfection.”

Applications for employment may be downloaded here from www.bowlandbarrel.com. Interested candidates also may contact the general manager via email at citycentrejobs@bowlandbarrel.com.

FreeRange Concepts began construction of Bowl and Barrel at CityCentre in February. The company didn’t disclose how much the project is costing to build.

According to a news release, the bowling venue also features a full-service restaurant, an American tavern featuring housemade specialties and craft cocktails and a European beer hall. The venue also offers space for corporate events, private birthday parties, get-togethers and family outings.

Sepkowitz said FreeRange Concepts decided to build in the CityCentre because of the quality of the mixed-use development built by Midway. He also said the development has exceptional co-tenants from a restaurant, retail and office perspective. The density of office and target household demographics also fit within FreeRange Concept’s preferred threemile radius.

This will be Bowl and Barrel’s third location. Other venues operate in Dallas and San Antonio.

The bowling and dining venue isn’t FreeRange’s only venture being built at CityCentre. The General Public, a restaurant and bar, is under construction and will start serving in late June. The General Public will serve lunch and supper inside and on its air-conditioned patio.

The restaurant features a horseshoe-shaped bar that will offer drink selections such as Dr. Funk, the Four Thieves, the Caipirinha and the Rusky Rose. The General Public also will soon begin hiring, said Sepkowitz.
