Splashtown sets lineup of events for summertime Theater plans romantic comedy
Wet ’n’ Wild SplashTown opens daily for the summer season beginning May 26, open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and until 7 p.m. on weekends until June, when it stays open until 7 p.m. on weekdays and 8 p.m. on weekends. Tickets are $31 to $45 depending on age and day of the week. Parking is $10.
The large water park draws a large regional crowd – especially on the weekends – and upcoming special events include an 80s day and dive-in movie showing of Honey, I Shrunk the Kids on June 24 and Christian Youth Day on July 22.
The park features rides and attractions for all ages. For thrill seekers, there are the RipQurl, the Big Spin and Brain Drain water slides. Families can stay together on the Big Kahuna, Paradise River and Thunder Run attractions. And there are three separate attractions for the youngest water park goers: Blue Lagoon Activity Pool, Tree House and Wet ’n’ Wild Jr.
Season Passes are available starting at $69 and meal plan options are also available. Cabana rentals start at $150.

Benefit concert set for local girl
A benefit concert called Miracles for Maddie will raise money for a family beginning at 7:30 p.m. on May 27 at BFE Rock Club.
The four-member Decoveny family was rear ended in a multiple car accident in February that seriously injured then 22-month old Madeline Decoveny. She suffered multiple skull fractures, a traumatic brain injury and is learning how to speak again. She was treated at Texas Children’s Hospital for months, and returned home two months ago.
The concert at the rock club features headliner Smokin Aces, which takes the stage at midnight, preceded by Antioch, The Weeds, Thorium Reactor, Black Kennedy, Xxessive Pleasure and Aggressive Vibe.

Wunderlich Farm features market
On the last Saturday of every month through May, the Klein, TX Historical Foundation opens the doors to the public of Wunderlich Farm for a farmer’s market featuring a diverse group of local vendors from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., and the on-site Klein Museum stays open until 3 p.m. Upcoming dates include May 28.
Participating regular vendors at the farmer’s market include local farms, vendors and artisans. The Klein, TX Museum is also open during the monthly event, and it displays early community artifacts including household items, Civil War relics and a collection of radios.

Driftwood plans local concert
Wade Andrew Smith & Driftwood return to perform at 9 p.m. on May 28 at the Tomball VFW. Tickets are $12 when purchased in advance. Kids under 15 are $7.
Smith grew up outside of Tomball, citing the 1964 movie “Your Cheatin’ Heart” as a pivotal moment in his career. He was young, but the story of Hank Williams inspired him to pick up an old acoustic guitar bigger than him and learn how to play. His band Driftwood began performing together in 2007. The band also frequently performs at Houston’s Firehouse Saloon.

Johnny Rodriguez to showcase hits
Johnny Rodriguez will perform May 28 at 8 p.m. at Main Street Crossing in Tomball with opener Tony Ramey. Tickets are $40.
Rodriguez released most of his catalog in the 1970s and 1980s, his two albums released in the 1990s didn’t chart and he hasn’t released anything since 1996. But his hits are numerous, including “You Always Come Back (To Hurting Me),” “Ridin’ My Thumb to Mexico” and “I Just Can’t Get Her Out of My Mind.”

The Texas Repertory Theatre presents Noel Coward’s romantic comedy “Hay Fever” through May 29. Tickets are $38.
The play focuses on the eccentric Bliss family — Judith, a recently retired actress; David, a self-absorbed novelist; and their two privileged children — who live in a world where reality slides into fiction. Upon entering this world, their weekend guests are forced into close quarters with the Bliss family members, each one more eccentric than the last.
The production features Sally Burtenshaw, Lauren Dolk, Haley Hussey, Ian Hill, Joanna Hubbard and Texas Repertory artistic director Steven Fenley under the direction of Rachel Mattox.
Performances are on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 3 p.m.

Glass studio set for craft demos
A local glass studio offers a free glass blowing demo every first Saturday of the month, including on June 4 from 3 to 5 p.m. The studio, Three Dimensional Visions, has been located in Tomball for a little more than a year.
Studio proprietor artisans Michael Kerry Brown and Sally Pennington Moore will demonstrate their trade to visitors. Cover bands to perform concert
Cover bands will perform the works of Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin at 9 p.m. on June 3 at The Concert Pub North.
