Perry finally loses a vote — on television
Ex-governor, partner are voted off ‘DWTS’ in results show
It was the last tango in Los Angeles for former Gov. Rick Perry — who had never lost an election — after he was voted off of “Dancing With the Stars” on Tuesday.
Rick Perry’s dancing days, much like his presidential dreams, are over.
The former Texas governor was eliminated from “Dancing with the Stars” during Tuesday night’s results show. He earned the lowest number of viewer votes after Monday’s lackluster paso doble.
“Rick, it’s a live show. Just like a debate. You’re live,” host Tom Bergeron joked after Perry was slow to step up to the microphone.
Perry didn’t have much to say after the announcement. He simply urged viewers to get involved with “veteran’s causes.”
Perry lasted for three performances and regularly earned the lowest scores.
Model, actress and backside enthusiast Amber Rose was in danger of elimination but remains on the show.
Perry and rapper Vanilla Ice, who was born in Dallas, claimed to be fast friends during Monday’s show.
A total of 11 celebrities are still in the running, including Olympic swimmer Ryan Lochte, “Brady Bunch” star Maureen McCormick and NFL star Calvin Johnson Jr.
