New section soon to open in Kingwood

Kingwood, one of Houston’s oldest masterplanned communities, is about to open Royal Brook, the final residential section in the 15,000acre northeast Houston project.

Ashton Woods, Perry Homes and Village Builders have opened model homes, and Drees Custom Homes and J. Patrick Homes are putting finishing touches on their models. Opening weekend begins Oct. 8.

Homes at Mills Branch and West Lake Houston Parkway are priced from about $300,000 to more than $600,000.

Since Friendswood Development Co. opened Kingwood in 1972, the community has grown to more than 20,000 homes. Royal Brook, which spans 510 acres and is planned for 1,100 homes, is the first new village to open there in several years.
