JOHN L. CASTILLO

1921-2017

Proud WWII Veteran, John L. Castillo, 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 13, 2017. He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dora, daughters Yvonne Gloria and Delores Vasquez, his parents Jose and Juanita, and brothers Jose, Fernando and Felix.

John is survived by his children, Rudolph (+Velma), Richard (Liz), Robert (Veronica) and Marie (David). His grandchildren were the apples of his eye: eighteen grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. Countless nieces, nephews and God-children were special as well.

He loved to dance, to play cards, listening to the Astros and being around his family. He hardly ever missed a party! His energy never faded even until his last day. He was the strongest little man we ever knew. Grandpa will be missed by all who knew him. Keep watch over us while your dancing again in Heaven with Grandma.

Visitation- 5-7 pm, 1/16/17, rosary at 7pm, Forest Park Lawndale. Burial mass 10am, 1/17/17, St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Manchester. Burial following at Forest Park Lawndale.
