Anne Johnston Lindahl, or “Nana” as she was affectiona­tely called by her family, passed away peacefully with her loving daughter Stacey by her side on Friday morning, January 20, 2017 at the age of 87. Anne died shortly after an unexpected diagnosis of cancer. Anne will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Anne was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Dannals Johnston and John Johnston, and by the love of her life, Robert Arthur Lindahl, whom she married on September 3, 1955.

Anne was born on December 5, 1929, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvan­ia where she lived until Bob took a job with Conoco and they moved to Mission, Texas. From there they moved to Kilgore, Midland, Bedford and Portland, Texas before settling in Houston in 1970. In the mid- seventies, Bob left Conoco and formed a series of three successful oil and gas exploratio­n companies.

Anne devoted her life to raising her children and supporting her husband throughout his career. Anne found her greatest pleasure in the simple things, like jigsaw and crossword puzzles, playing solitaire and Bingo and socializin­g with her friends. Her favorite activity was “grabbing a bite” to eat with her family.

Anne is survived by her children, Stacey Anne Lindahl and Eric John Lindahl and wife Judi, grandchild­ren, Brittany Franco and husband Kirk, Andie Mullins and (Jamie Frederick), Tori Lindahl and (Dusty Mayo), Drew Lindahl, Arleigh Lindahl, Mac Lindahl and great-grandchild­ren, Aubrie Franco, Preslie Franco and Charlie Mayo.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, 13001 Katy Freeway in Houston from 4-8 p.m. Funeral service will be at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church, 15415 N. Eldridge, Cypress, Texas 77429 at 10:00 a.m. with lunch to follow. Private burial will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
