John David Tamborello passed away, peacefully, January 21, 2017. John was born in Houston, Texas on the 3rd of August 1935 to Charles Vincent and Bertha Jewel Tamborello. He grew up in West University in the 1950’s and became good friends with renowned NASCAR driver, AJ Foyt. John graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in civil engineerin­g and, later, worked alongside his brother CJ as contract structural engineers for their family run business, Tamcon.

In 1953, John married his beautiful wife, Patsy Ann Tamborello and lived and raised their six children in the Woodside area. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 53 years Patsy, brother Charles Joseph Tamborello and his sister Patricia Lynn Tamborello. John is survived by his six children: Janice Ledet, her husband Mike, Michael Tamborello and his wife Susan, Julie Lindsey, John Tamborello, Jr., Annette Sanchez and husband Mike Jr., and Paul Tamborello and wife Cheri; eleven grandchild­ren, seven great-grandchild­ren. He is also survived by his younger brother, Patrick Tamborello as well as many other loving family and friends. John took great pride in raising his children as well as his vegetable garden, for which he is well known. He also loved to be outdoors, hunting and fishing. And he loved to watch his favorite team – The Astros. His sharp and spiritual, humble and kind mind will forever be missed.

Friends are invited to visitation with the family from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 PM, Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Earthman Bellaire Funeral Home, 4525 Bissonnet St., Bellaire, TX 77401. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, 6800 Buffalo Speedway, Houston, TX 77025. Rite of Committal will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery. A reception will follow immediatel­y after the burial at St. Vincent de Paul in the Msgr. Jamail Hall.

The family would like to extend their grateful appreciati­on to Maria, Alma and Rose for their loving care and support of their father.
