Richard Fellows, age 75, of Austin, TX, passed away February 12, 2017. Richard was born in Keokuk, Iowa and was raised from infancy in Houston, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Frances Fellows of Houston, TX.

Richard graduated from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX in 1964, and entered the securities brokerage business in 1968. His financial services career spanned over 48 years, most recently serving as Managing Director in the Austin office of Raymond James. He made many friends during his career and earned the trust and confidence of many clients.

Richard is survived by his former wife, Vivian, and their son Jeffrey and his wife Dr. Kori Whitener Fellows. He is also survived by two sisters, Ann Christenso­n and her husband John of Iowa City, IA, and Dr. Carol Fellows and her husband Tim Bewley of Ashland, OR; brother William Fellows and his wife Colleen of Houston; and several nieces and nephews.

Richard was an avid sports fan with a special allegiance to the Astros, Texans, and SMU Mustangs. When health permitted, he was an active golfer, fisherman, traveler, and cook.

Following a service at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home (3125 North Lamar Boulevard, Austin, TX) at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 18, 2017, a celebratio­n of life ceremony will be held at Shoal Creek Saloon, 909 North Lamar at 11:00 a.m. Instead of pallbearer­s, Richard’s two business associates Ele Jordan and Ann Connolly will serve as guest sommeliers.

In lieu of flowers, any memorial contributi­ons can be made to a charity of your choice.
