Betty Kane Daily, 95, passed away on Feb. 28, 2017, in Houston, TX. Born May 10, 1921 in Chicago, IL to Marcella Liddy Kane and James W. Kane, Sr., Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband, F. Regis Daily, Sr.; and brothers, James W., Jr. and Robert F. Kane.

Betty grew up in Chicago and later moved with her family to Philadelph­ia, PA, where she attended Chestnut Hill College and graduated with a B.A. in Home Economics. In 1944 Betty married F. Regis Daily, Sr. They moved to Denver in 1948 where they lived until moving to Greeley in 1955. Regis passed away in 1983 and Betty moved to Houston in 1991.

Betty is survived by her four children, Sheila Dell’Osso and husband Domenic, Marcella Chipman, F. Regis (Jayar) Daily, Jr. and wife Ginger, and Maureen Daily; grandchild­ren, Susan Dell’Osso, Lisa Dell’Osso Barnett and husband Walker, Domenic Dell’Osso, Jr. and wife Nicole, Michael Chipman, Jr. and wife Erin, Francis R. Daily Ill and wife Jamie, John B. Daily II and wife Katie, Erin Daily Duba and husband Scott, and, one of her great joys in life, her fifteen great grandchild­ren; also survived by her sisters-in-law, Betty Kane and Dorothy Kane; and numerous nieces and nephews in Philadelph­ia.

Always interested in her friends and community, Betty enjoyed a very active life, which was infused with her wonderful sense of humor. She enjoyed golf in her younger years and played tennis into her 80s. She loved to travel and was an avid reader and duplicate bridge player, just shy of achieving her Life Master’s points. Betty often gave generously to her community. In Greeley, she served as a president and longtime member of Want to Know (WTK), as well as a member of the Assistance League. In Houston, she was a member of the Memorial Women’s Club, PEO and Charity Guild of Catholic Women. Betty was an active member of St. Michael Catholic Church.

The family would like to thank everyone at St. Dominic’s Village for their loving care and in particular her wonderful caregivers, Sylvia Paniagua, Mima Chavez, Irma Garcia, Maria Ruiz and Claudia Delgado.

A Visitation and Rosary will be held at 5 p.m., Sunday, March 5, 2017, at Earthman Hunters Creek Chapel, 8303 Katy Freeway. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, March 6, 2017, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 1801 Sage Road. Interment will be at a later date in Greeley, CO.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial donations be made in Betty’s name to St. Dominic’s Village, 2401 Holcombe Blvd., Houston, TX 77021, Charity Guild of Catholic Women, Houston Hospice or the charity of your choice.
