Of the six teams in this year’s college baseball tournament, five are ranked nationally. The highlight is No. 1 TCU vs. No. 4 LSU at 7:15 p.m. Friday. Other teams are No. 20 Mississippi, No. 21 Texas Tech, No. 25 Texas A&M and Baylor.
Cal State-Fullerton at Houston 3 When/where: Friday-Sunday, Darryl & Lori Schroeder Park
Two other top teams, the No. 7 Titans and the Cougars, who have been in and out of the polls, meet at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. Pepperdine visits Rice at 6:30 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.
Sounders at Dynamo 4 When/where: 7:30 p..m. Saturday, BBVA Compass Stadium
The Dynamo open the MLS season with a test against defending champion Seattle. Former national team standout and Texas native Clint Dempsey, who struggled with health issues last season, has been cleared to play for the Sounders.
Camel & Ostritch Races 5 When/where: Friday-Saturday, Sam Houston Race Park
Spectators will see more than thoroughbreds race this weekend. The annual camel and ostrich races are back. Post times are 7 p.m. Friday and 6 p.m. Saturday.
