CANDYCE A. BARRON (DAMRON)

1957-2017

-

Candyce A. Barron (Damron), 60, of Cypress, Texas, passed away on March 3, 2017 at Emerus Medical Center in Cypress, Texas. She was born February 19, 1957 in Memphis, Tennessee a daughter of the late Lloyd and Rose Damron.

Candyce (Candy) attended grade school in Memphis where she loved performing ballet and twirling batons as a Majorette. She graduated from Ridgeway High School in 1975 and continued her education in Dallas where she became a nurse. She worked with many hospitals in the DFW area as she constantly increased her responsibilities. Her best friend to this day, Andrea Dugat, would later get the privilege of seeing her move to Cypress, Texas where she bought a home 2 doors away.

Anyone lucky enough to meet Candy would tell you how funny, quick witted, and intelligent she was. Her attitude on life was blunt and direct… get on board or get out of the way. Her wisdom inspired many, and her courage lead the rest.

When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed the little things like gardening, puzzles, bird watching, and curling up with a good book and her dog Jetta.

She is survived by her only child Adam Barron of Dallas, Texas, her loving sister Dixie Damron of Marshall, North Carolina and her many friends in Cypress, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents and her older brother Jim Damron.

She died in peace while surrounded by family, love, and prayer. Candy will be remembered as a loving mother, loyal sister, and a best friend. There will be a celebration of life in her honor which will be announced in the near future.

Special thanks to the nursing staff at North Cypress Medical Center - Carmen, Chad, Dalla, Denise, Michael, and Susan.
