Holly Hall’s Spring Bazaar set April 7-8

-

Holly Hall holds its annual Spring Bazaar where residents and board members work together to raise funds for the residents’ discretionary use.

This year, the Spring Bazaar will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., on Friday, April 7, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 8.

With months of planning and work, the bazaar is the highlight of spring at Holly Hall.

Residents meet weekly to create crafts and diligently work throughout the year to recruit church members, friends, and the greater community to donate items to sell.

The event is produced by the Holly Hall board of directors, which meets regularly with the residents during the year.

“Residents have used funds raised from past bazaars to purchase items for the campus, including a filtered water fountain and benches that are strategically placed around the outside of campus to encourage residents to go outside and exercise.

Additionally, every Christmas, all residents are treated to dinner at a restaurant and a tour of Christmas lights around town,” said Holly Hall board member Diann Lewter.

The bazaar features a country store with a variety of homemade crafts and baked items as well as a plethora of other items for sale like furniture, household items, collectibles, fashion accessories, electronics, art and home décor accessories, and more.

All items are reasonably priced. This is a perfect opportunity for the avid collector to find unique treasures at a great value or to assemble items for an Easter basket.

For those who work up an appetite from shopping, a tea room will be open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Holly Hall Retirement Community is located at 2000 Holly Hall St. across from NRG Park and the MetroRail stop.

There is ample free parking, and the bazaar accepts cash and checks only.

Holly Hall was founded in 1949 and was one of the first retirement communities in Houston.

Holly Hall offers independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing and rehabilitation on 22 acres near the Texas Medical Center.
